PROCESS

The "Japanese Hair Striaghtening" or "Thermal Reconditioning" is a revolutionary process that permanently straightens curly and unruly hair.

1. Consultation
Prior to the treatment, the stylist in charge will analyze each hair and decided whether the Japanese Straightening is suitable for the hair type. If the hair is highly damaged or colored unevenly, the stylist will consult with you whether to proceed with the treatment or not.

2. Pre-treatment
In preparation for the straightening process, the hair is washed and treated with primer which balances the ph level and replenishes the nutrients in the hair.

3. Solution
A solution is applied to the hair which relaxes (disconnect the hair's cysteine bond) the hair. This chemical makes each hair strand more "stretchy" and more susceptible to shape-changing.

4. Ironing
After the solution has been washed out, the hair is ironed. The heat of the iron is important in the straightening process because it plays an important role in restructuring the hair's protein bond (the bond inside of the hair that sets the configuration of the hair strand.)

5. Neutralizing
A neutralizer solution is then applied to the hair which basically stops the relaxer solution and sets the hair in its current straight shape.

6. Styling
The hair is washed and is now ready to be styled.
